Dry cleaning, laundry or Wash & Fold?

Dubai laundry services usually come in three formats, and Diamond Stars publishes a price for each. Per-item garment care, listed under dry cleaning, has a Wash & Press price for every garment: a shirt is AED 15, trousers AED 20 and a two-piece suit AED 65. Wash & Fold is priced by the bag: AED 65 for up to 5 kg of clothes. Ironing on its own is the Steam Press Only price, such as AED 10 for a shirt.

The format decides how the clothes come back. Per-item garments are returned pressed, on hangers and in protective covers. Wash & Fold comes back washed, dried and neatly folded, not pressed. Steam Press Only is for clothes that are already clean and only need pressing.

Suits, blazers, coats, silk blouses, evening dresses, delicate abayas and anything with a care label that says dry clean belong here. These items are reviewed individually, which is why they are priced individually. The price list shows From prices because the final price can vary with the fabric, embellishment and condition.

Traditional wear sits in the same format: a kandora or a basic abaya is AED 20, a delicate abaya AED 45 and a ghatra AED 10. The minimum dry cleaning order is AED 65, which a single two-piece suit already reaches.

T-shirts, gym wear, pyjamas, underwear, socks and casual cotton clothes are the classic Wash & Fold load. One bag of up to 5 kg is AED 65, and each extra kilo is AED 10. If you are unsure which bag size fits, weigh a full laundry basket at home.

Bedding has its own bags: Bed & Bath is AED 75 for up to 5 kg of sheets and towels, the Full Home Bundle is AED 120 for up to 10 kg without a duvet, and Wash & Fold plus Bedding is AED 200 for up to 10 kg including one duvet insert. Ironing is not included in any Wash & Fold bag, but it can be added per item.

A typical mixed order is a Wash & Fold bag of everyday clothes plus a few work shirts and a suit for dry cleaning. Keep the two in separate bags and say which is which in the WhatsApp message, so nothing delicate ends up in the by-weight wash.

If you want everyday shirts to come back crisp rather than folded, send them per item instead of in the bag. For example, five work shirts sent per item cost AED 75 with wash and press, while inside a Wash & Fold bag they are part of the AED 65 load but come back folded, not pressed.

The care label is the quickest guide. A label that says dry clean or dry clean only points to per-item dry cleaning. A washing tub symbol with a temperature usually means the item can go in Wash & Fold. Hand-wash symbols, delicate fabrics and embellishment are worth sending per item, with a photo if you are unsure.

Before any pickup, empty pockets, close zips and keep dark and light colours apart in a Wash & Fold bag. Point out stains when you hand over the clothes. We treat stains carefully, but cannot guarantee every stain will come out.
